About Us

Modelled on Harrington Discovery Institute’s US sister programme, Fund for Cures UK is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting academic researchers and breakthrough discovery in the United Kingdom.

Fund for Cures UK provides non-dilutive financial capital, industry-experienced guidance, and business management needed to advance basic drug discoveries into the clinical realm. We’ll help move your project beyond the high-risk, early stages of drug development to the point where the pharmaceutical industry will invest to bring the drugs to market.

Therapeutics Development Center

The Therapeutics Development Center (TDC) advisors and project managers work closely with Harrington Scholars to move their projects toward the clinic and enhance potential for commercial success. TDC advisors are experienced leaders from top pharma companies with a track record of bringing new drugs to market.

Scholar support includes:

  • Assistance with target validation, lead optimization and nomination
  • Advising on critical elements of IND submissions, clinical testing and commercial development
  • Preparation of a commercial opportunity assessment
  • Collaboration with technology transfer offices to develop/strengthen intellectual property
  • Identifying and securing additional funding

To see how the Therapeutics Development Center supports scholars, watch Drs. Haiyan Zhou and Siew Peng Ho as they present Dr. Zhou's project in the 2022 Rare Disease Day webinar.
